This post is written in (not-so-good) english, because my American family and friends are tired of using Google Translate and told me to «throw them a bone» once in a while.
22. of July my sister, brother and me took to the sky heading for The Great State of Minnesota. My sister for the 2nd. time, me for the 5th time and my brother… Well, he has lived there for a year so he is almost native. Since both my sister and me are crippled we always travel with a huge but great entourage. Joar, Sondre`s friend, was also a part of our entourage. And I tell you, if he wants a job as an assistant he can have it any time! He was like the best free work labourer ever 🙂

As usual we chose to fly with with Icelandair, nice planes and fantastic service. As you can see in the previous picture my plane trip was first class, three seats on my own and a nice mattress. What more can you ask for?

My sister and me chose to split up when we arrived at the airport. She was going to stay with our super nice «blood» relatives, and me and my brother were to stay with his host parents which we see as both family and friends 🙂 The day after arrival they took us out on a beautiful evening boat trip on Lake Minnetonka 🙂 As you can see in the pictures above, we had a blast.
The third day our host «dad» Scott had invited us to their cabin up north where we were going to stay for four nights. Even if all the days of our stay was amazing, the days at the cabin were extraordinary! I could seriously (an expression I rightfully get teased about all the time) have stayed there my whole vacation. We had boat trips, and swimming (I put my head under water), jet skiing, bonfires, a huge neighborhood garage party, a road trip to the beginning of the Mississippi River, fantastic American food (Scotts famous ribs, burgers, french toast etc. etc) and we got to drive around in old veteran cars 🙂

Joar celebrated his 19th birthday while we were at the cabin. Scott had of course baked (read: bought) a cake.

At the Mississippi head waters I got blessed/healed for my very first time 🙂 Funny experience, but I´m sorry to say I still use a wheelchair 😉 They thought Joar was my brother and he had a hard time not laughing 🙂
After we got back to Minnetonka and the Minneapolis area, we first went to my cousin Kelsey`s Sweet Sixteen. The day after we went on a mission to save the American economy with Norwegian money 🙂 The compulsory shopping experience is a must when you´re in a state with no sales tax 🙂

Well, this is not vomit – it´s a heart attack in a box, but it is seriously the best thing on earth! What you are looking at is a cinnabon with triple icing, triple caramel sauce and pecan nuts
The last week we went to a baseball game with Minnesota Twins, a pig roast with family and friends, and of course we had a party with Sondre´s host parents Alix and Scott, which by the way are amazing people!
The very last days we did some last minute shopping, went to a huge family reuinon and had brunch with my grand dad`s amazing first cousin and her husband.

Beulah and Frank were the first people we stayed with when I had my first trip to the States in 2005. Beulah is my grand dad Knut´s first cousin. They are lovely people and she is a hell of a chef in the kitchen 🙂
We had yet another amazing trip to the States! 🙂 Huge Thanks and hugs to Alix and Scott and Deb and Vern, for making our trip extraordinary 🙂
